Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship
The Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship at Advocate Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center is a one-year non-ACGME accredited program within the Division of Cardiology. This one-year program primarily focuses on advanced echocardiography (i.e. Interventional echo) and cardiac computed tomography training with additional opportunities in Nuclear (SPECT/PET) and Cardiac MRI imaging that can be tailored to individual career goals. Our robust cardiovascular imaging department offers exposure to wide spectrum of pathology, state of the art imaging equipment, and a comprehensive multidisciplinary training.
Program Facts
Clinical Experience
- Advanced Echocardiography: State of the art training on 3D TTE/TEE, Strain, Structural/Interventional Echocardiography. Participation in the latest clinical trials and latest structural interventions. Unparalleled interventional echo experience: (600 TAVR per year, 100 mitral interventions per year, 300 left atrial appendage occlusions per year, 50 tricuspid interventions per year).
- Cardiac CT: Full Cardiac and Cardiovascular CT training on 256 slice GE Revolution scanner. Including Coronary CTA, Vascular CTA and preoperative structural CT imaging for transcatheter intervention planning.
- Nuclear: Opportunities to gain level III training in nuclear cardiology, including SPECT and PET myocardial perfusion imaging if desired.
- Cardiac MRI: Additional training possible in Cardiac MRI in collaboration with both the Cardiology and Radiology departments.
