What is women's health?
Women’s health care addresses the emotional and physical needs that are unique to women. We offer prevention-focused care for women at every stage of life with services such as birth control, mammograms and osteoporosis treatment. Our obstetricians, gynecologists and nurse-midwives provide care from adolescence to menopause and beyond.
Female annual exams are a crucial tool to help you stay healthy by assessing your overall health and offering tailored recommendations to lower your health risks.
In addition, you’ll want to schedule a well-woman exam with an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB-GYN). These are specialists who receive advanced training in:
- Gynecology: Care for a woman’s reproductive system at all stages
- Obstetrics: Pregnancy care, including preconception (prepregnancy) planning, labor and delivery, and postpartum (after delivery) care
If you need to see another type of specialist, our women’s health team provides seamless multidisciplinary care, and will support you along the way. See all services and treatments.

Is women’s health the same as reproductive health?
While reproductive health is a large part of women’s health, OB-GYN services extend far beyond caring for the reproductive system. Women’s health care also includes taking care of your mental and social well-being, and monitoring for leading health risks that can affect anyone such as heart disease and diabetes.
